Our Tribute of Honor: John T. Tennison Jr.

"That Peace and Liberty May Not Perish from the Earth"

A Tribute of Honor held on Sunday, September 30, 1945 at South Street Christian Church, Springfield, MO.

John T. Tennison Jr. First Lieutenant Air Corp. Born January 26, 1920. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Tennison Sr., Buffalo, Missouri.  Husband of Velda Tennison and father of John Lawrence Tennison, of Springfield.

Killed in action while "flying the Hump" from India to China on August 9, 1943.

Graduate of Enid Oklahoma High School and attended business college in Springfield. Member of the Baptist Church, Enid, Oklahoma.

Enlisted in the service November, 1940. Transferred to the Army Air Corps in August, 1941 and received his wings at Kelly Field on March 7, 1942.  Instructed in Basic Flying Schools for a year before leaving to assume duty overseas with the Air Transport Command.
